OSHC - Outside School Hours Care

Our school has partnered with an independent provider TheirCare to provide Before and After School Care services to our school community.

The program services the children in the school from 7:00am in the morning until 8.45am and operates from 3:20pm each day until 6:00pm

Families wishing to use this service can visit the TheirCare website: http://theircare.com.au/. Families are also eligible for a Government rebate which reduces the cost per session. Further information can also be obtained by contacting the school or ringing TheirCare on: 1300 072 410.

TheirCare provides a stimulating and safe environment for all children and an environment where children from and enjoy their time in their program. During sessions children develop life skills, friendships, confidence and creativity through play.

Playgroup

We also have a Playgroup on site where young children can play and learn. It is a fun and nurturing environment, which provides a place for children to have new experiences and opportunities to play, socialise and discover their world. Everybody is welcome at the Playgroup, which runs every Friday from 9-11am.

Educating the whole child

The world our students will enter into as adults will require them to think both critically and creatively, evaluate massive amounts of information, solve complex problems and communicate well. A strong foundation in reading, writing, maths and other subjects is still needed; however, this alone is not sufficient for lifelong success.

What is needed to be a successful learner?

  • A student who enters school healthy and safe and is ready to learn

  • A student who feels connected to school is more likely to stay in school

  • A student who has access to challenging and engaging academic programs is better prepared for further education, work and civic life

We believe the five components of Educating the Whole Child should work together, not in isolation. At Tarwin Lower Primary School, we deliver a balanced approach to education, to better prepare our students for their future.
