Hi Grade Prep/One and Grownups,

Welcome to our online learning platform.

I hope you had a restful Easter break and enjoyed your enforced family time!

Below are the learning tasks for this week, Week 1.

All extra worksheets are pdf linked below, but please use workbooks to complete tasks and paste printed sheets into scrapbooks so we don't misplace anything along the way.

Your child's Reading Eggs, Mathletics and Soundwavesonline passwords are pasted into the front of their reading diaries. Students have unlimited access to these sites at anytime and they are a great addition to student learning. Please email the school if you need another copy of these.

Here is the link to the timetable outlining my availability each week - timetable

Due to Google Meetings being a bit more difficult than we thought, we are now using a new meetings page called Webex. The link that you will need to get in contact with your teacher is on Compass for grownups to find. This link will not change.

Please feel free to contact me through Google Meet during my available times or email me at school if you have any questions, queries and or concerns as we attempt to navigate these interesting times ahead.

How Many Jumps?

Materials: masking or painter’s tape, measuring tape

Rabbits aren’t the only animals that are great jumpers—kangaroos, frogs, and grasshoppers are too!

Go to an open space (or move furniture out of the way) and make “animal jumping stations.” Have your child help you use masking tape to mark a starting point and the distance that each animal can jump. Measure 1.5 meters for a grasshopper, 1.8 meters for a frog, and 4.5 meters for a kangaroo.

At each jumping station, have your child count how many jumps it takes

to go the distance.

Build math vocabulary as you talk about the activity. Your child will see that the longer the distance, the more jumps it takes.
