Hello Everyone! Welcome to CHALLENGE WEEK!

This our last week doing Remote Learning...YAY! You have been doing an amazing and I can't tell you how proud I am of each and everyone of you. Due to this being our last week, I have set up two challenges for you to pick from. The details are below and on Google Classroom. It is a bit of creative fun for you to do at home before we head back to the classroom.

Google Classroom-

Each day there will be 2 tasks that will be assigned on our Google Classroom. These are the main pieces of work that needs to be completed and handed in. Please do not forget to mark the assignment/task as handed in. Everything else on this website is work that can be completed but does not have to be handed in.

The links commonly used are now on our Grade 2/3 Google Classroom.

I have attached this weeks timetable of when I am not available due to planning and meetings. It has changed for this week so have a quick look if I do not seem to be on our Webex meeting page.

CHALLENGE WEEK

Below are two different challenges for you to pick from. Both are creative and involve planning before completing the challenge. Read the challenges and decide which one you would like to complete. You have until this Friday 3:30pm to complete the challenge you have picked.

Challenge option number 1: Rube Goldberg challenge!

Rube Goldberg was a cartoonist and an inventor. His inventions solved a simple task in the most overcomplicated, inefficient, and hilarious way possible.

Watch the following clip for examples:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wzyn-JHAtfI

https://safeyoutube.net/w/vmZD

You need to plan and design a complex contraption to achieve a simple task such as- turning a light off, watering a plant, feeding a dog, putting rubbish in a bin.

You can use materials that you already have at home.

Challenge option number 2: Obstacle course challenge!

You are to plan an obstacle course inside or outside your house (even both) using objects that you have at home. It must be safe and checked over by an adult. You can make a course using chalk out on your drive way. It can be a fitness obstacle course even.

You will need to plan and design the course and have a member of your family complete it.

Here are some examples:

You only need to pick one challenge to complete this week. It is a bit of fun and you never know there maybe a surprise for the students who complete their challenge at school next Tuesday.
