Welcome

Welcome to Tarwin Lower and District Primary School situated in the township of Tarwin Lower, South Gippsland, Victoria. Our school educates children from the surrounding towns of Middle Tarwin, Venus Bay and Waratah Bay.
Our school provides each student with a high quality education.  All children are given the opportunity to progress at their own rate in order to achieve their full potential.  Each child’s social, emotional and behavioural well-being is nurtured in an environment of strong academic performance.
Our school is open to its community and it is a place where people feel comfortable and welcome.
There is an ongoing commitment to provide a safe, attractive environment for the children.  A high level of involvement from parents and the wider community is actively encouraged and is a key feature of our school.
Positive interaction and co-operation with other schools in our cluster facilitate the further development of sports, outdoor education, cultural events and professional contact.

Environment

Tarwin Lower and District Primary School offers a tranquil and peaceful environment in which all students can learn and grow as individuals. Our purpose is to prepare our children as socially adept, resilient and competent members of society.
The play area is situated in an attractive setting of many native, deciduous trees and garden beds which have been planted by our parents and students. Children are provided with two playgrounds, a Covered Outdoor Learning Space and we also boast a walking track around our oval.

Tarwin Lower Primary Office

Tarwin Lower operates three classrooms and maintains a well-stocked library.  We have an art-room that also serves as a multi-purpose room and contains a kitchen area used to prepare lunches that includes all students from prep to six in growing, harvesting and eating from the school vegie gardens, as well as a separate music room and extensive grounds for students to play in. Each classroom has its own Smart board as well as laptops and iPads for student learning.

The local community feels strongly about having a quality state government educational facility serving Tarwin Lower and surrounding districts.
